Parkour, also known as urban free-running, originated in France. It's a way of moving efficiently across a city terrain, treating conventional obstacles (fences, parked cars, walls, railings, scaffolding) as part of the route.
Laurie's training group "Parkour Vancouver" gets launched in April 2008. Groups of 4-10 people who have taken her three week preparatory course will explore parts of Vancouver using their physical navigation skills. Laurie offers beginner and intermediate level programs. For safety reason it is mandatory to complete the training program before embarking on even a simple route.
For more information on program details and cost, contact info@smithtraining.ca. Outdoor "runs" are always free to graduates of the training program and will take place 1-2 times a week weather permitting.
